POSITION SUMMARY

  • Maintenance of St. Francis Borgia Campus

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Must be a self-starter and willing to adapt.
  • Have access to a pick-up for hauling branches, equipment and recycling.
  • Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge are helpful.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • For St. Francis Borgia:
    • Twice a year, lubricate the moving parts on the bell with graphite.
    • Spray for weeds
    • Care for, water, and maintain interior and exterior plants, flowers.
    • Take recycling to the recycling center as needed.
    • Maintains and orders equipment as needed.
    • Performs general maintenance and repairs on the Church campus & Rectory as needed, including but not limited to: Changing bulbs, perform minor plumbing and electrical repairs as needed, repaint parking lot lines, arrows, handicapped spaces.
    • Consult with Pastor or next in authority before spending over $500.00 on any repair.
    • Replace air filters regularly at the Church, Education Building & Rectory.
    • Check belts on air units, grease the blower fan bearings.
    • Blow out and clean all gutters on the Church, Education Building & Rectory in spring and fall.
    • Inspect roofs of Church, Education Building & Rectory annually.
    • Maintain all service contracts and work with certified and licensed technicians as needed.
    • Assist the Funeral Committee by running the dishwasher, picking up the meat and bread for lunches if needed, including lifting heavy items such as the coffee pot and trays.
    • Assist the Art & Environment Committee with seasonal displays.
    • Assist with the coordination and moving of furniture or equipment.
    • Set up for Fish Fry, Thanksgiving & Christmas, OCIA and other events involving put up and take down of portable walls, tables, and chairs.
    • Repair kneelers when needed.
    • Coordinate the semi annual and annual checkup on the Fire Sprinkler System and Fire Extinguishers.
    • Coordinate the annual inspection of the kitchen oven hood.
    • Coordinate the annual backflow testing of the main water system at the Church.
    • Coordinate the annual boiler inspection.
    • Check all sump pumps.
    • Clean the Air Conditioner units for the Church, Education Building & Rectory when needed.
    • Clean, sweep, vacuum, dust, and empty trash in Parish Office and Sacristy.
    • Be on call for all emergencies at the Church, Education Building & Rectory.

 

  • For Holy Cross Cemetery – Pending as of May 2026
    • Stake out plots at the Cemetery for funerals and head stones.
    • Schedule with Olson & Stewart to dig the plots for funerals.
    • Care for and repair small items at the Cemetery such as trimming trees, picking up sticks after storms.
